Mr. David Wayne Carpenter, 71, of Lincolnton passed away on October 29, 2026. David was born September 5, 1955 in Mecklenburg County, a son to the late Alvin Carpenter and Dorothy Carpenter.

David is survived by his son, Josh Carpenter of Lincolnton; sister, Leona Ormand of Lincolnton; brothers, Alvin Carpenter, Jr. (Debbie) of Lincolnton and Mark Carpenter (Dana) of Hickory; sister-in-law, Sylvia Nantz of Lincolnton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Carpenter and daughter, Alecia Nicole Carpenter.

David Spent 39 Years in the Lincoln County Fire Service as a volunteer fireman and later as a Chaplain. He retired from Blossman Gas Company in Shelby.

A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Monday, November 2, 2026 at Lincolnton Church of God with Pastor Danny Houser and Pastor Harvey Gates officiating.

Interment will follow at Riverview Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00PM to 1:45PM at Lincolnton Church of God.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VIA Hospice or any local fire department.
